G&C Farm is led by Gustavo and Carolina Mirabal. Both are successful amateur riders with a great deal of experience in the world of horses. They share a passion for horses and the dream of making Venezuela a top contender at the highest level of equestrian competition. Along with their three daughters and new son Gustavo, they are very involved in the equestrian environment.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Gustavo is an amateur show jumper and owner of G&C Farm along with his wife, Carolina. Gustavo grew up around horses with his father, who owned racehorses in Venezuela. He then started riding when he was nine years old.
Gustavo moved to the United States for high school, where he graduated from Judson School in Phoenix, AZ. He rode for the school’s equestrian team and competed on the West Coast in the states as a junior.
After high school, Gustavo took a hiatus from riding when he returned to Venezuela to study law, following in the footsteps of his parents who are both lawyers. During law school, he worked as a personal assistant to the president of a bank and after graduation, became the bank’s vice-president. Fifteen years later, Gustavo began riding again, and in 2009, he moved back to the United States and founded G&C Farm in Wellington, FL.
G&C Farm was established with dreams of raising the level of show jumping in Venezuela and throughout North America. Through the farm, the Mirabal Family has supported many great riders and generously sponsored many top events throughout the world.
In 2014, Gustavo and Carolina made the decision to move G&C Farm to Europe and now have their home base in Madrid, Spain. Through G&C Farm Europe, Gustavo and Carolina continue to compete at some of the top competitions in the world.
Since getting back in the show ring with renewed determination over the last several years, Gustavo has had fantastic results with some of the top horses at G&C Farm. The 2014 season in particular saw Gustavo sustain an incredible winning streak. He led the victory gallop and proudly stood for the playing of his country’s national anthem on 16 different occasions, including 14 impressive victories aboard top mount, G&C Leroy 136. In addition to 16 overall wins, Gustavo had nine second-place finishes, seven of which were with Leroy.
The 2015 show season is off to a great start as well. Gustavo has already won six classes competing in Vejer de la Frontera, La Baule, St. Tropez and Paris.
Originally from Venezuela, Carolina owns G&C Farm with her husband, Gustavo. Carolina competes as an amateur and has had great results with her top mount, G&C Leroy 136 around the world.
